Why we may be thinking about a home makeover
Over the past year we have been challenged in wellness, we know that science is starting to catch up what we already know. All the products we are using have the potential to be endocrine disrupters. There are over 60 chemical toxins in the average home. The average home air quality is five times more toxic than the outside air quality, according to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), just from the average cleaning products used. Just to name some products that are harmful to our health are shampoos, conditioners, laundry detergent, fabric softeners, kitchen cleaners, dish washer detergent, bathroom cleaners, carpet cleaners, floor cleaners, air fresheners, plug ins, candles and so much more. It’s important more than ever to be mindful and protective over our family and our home. The population that is most at risk are those in the womb up to the teenage years. We are the caregivers and we need to clean up our products.
I completely get it, change is absolutely hard. I'm the type, "this is how I've been doing things for years, this is what I grew up knowing." Until one day I started reading the ingredients on the back of my shampoo and I couldn't even pronounce those ingredients. I researched one word and then another and that's when my learning and understanding took place that there are so much chemicals and synthetics in my products I was using. Being that I'm the prime home cleaner it's no wonder I had such bad respiratory issues, always getting sick multiple times out of the year, thyroid issues, skin, hair and nail issues, and my husband used to have eczema flair ups constantly in the past all due to things I thought was helping our home but making things worse. Making the switch from the big box stores cleaning products to doTERRAs cleaning line was easy. I'm just one that had to do it slowly there are others that can do that all at once depends on you.

Results in Testing the Efficacy
One of the concerns in the labatory is to make sure we pick a verity of organisms that represented what the average consumer would find in the home. Chose microbes commonly find in the home that would cause a problem. doTERRA's lab did a disc diffusion assay. It’s a time lapse of one of the studies. By taking a neutral agar plate that is meant to grow microbes and took an organism and rubbed it all over the nutrient agar. Letting it grow in conjunction with a disc that was infused with three different oil blends. This allowed us to see how it would work against the common bacteria and microbes that you would find in the home. Watch the time lapse below and feel confident and safer after using a high quality product that has been tested and proven to be safe and effective. These are all natural, that is used in the dishwasher and laundry pods. Can see growth occurring around the edge of the plate. Keep in mind this takes a number of days to occur. In the dish infused, in the middle is the zone of inhibition, where the abode oil is, the area where bacteria cannot grow. The bigger the zone is the bigger the area is at combating that microbe.
